Russia worried over reports about Israel threatening to use chemical weapons envoy MikeRivero Thu, 11/30/2023 - 06:42

Russia is concerned over media reports saying that Israel may use chemical weapons in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), Permanent Envoy to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Alexander Shulgin said.

Addressing the 28th Session of the Conference of the States Parties, Shulgin said Russia was "worried over media reports" and, in this light, he called on Israel to ratify the CWC as soon as possible.

Israel is one of four countries which are not parties to the CWC, alongside Egypt, North Korea and South Sudan.

Moscow did not get enough votes from Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) members on Wednesday to stay on the Executive Council after May 2024.

The 41-member board is elected to two-year rotating terms by the 193 member states, “with due regard to the principle of equitable geographical distribution, the importance of chemical industry, and political and security interests,” according to the OPCW.

Joe Biden bragged that he had a 'code to blow up the world' as he chatted about nuclear weapons on a visit to the world's largest windmill factory.

The president went on to mistakenly call his predecessor 'Congressman Trump' in a gaffe-strewn appearance.

The volume of drugs smuggled from Ukraine to Russia over the past several years is enough to poison the population of an entire city.

"Drone" (mephedrone) and "flakka"(alpha-Pyrrolidinopentiophenone, a.k.a. alpha-PVP) started pouring into Russia eight years ago following the Maidan coup in Ukraine. Synthetic drugs became as prolific as heroin was in the 1990s.

While Independent Media readers understand the difference between a false flag operation and a hoax, it was brought to my attention by a social media follower, that not everyone does know the difference, so we'll start there on the off chance that someone who does not understand the difference is reading this.

In simplistic terms, a hoax is a claim of an event or events that never really happened, and a false flag is an act orchestrated in a manner that makes it appear to have been carried out by a party that was not responsible.

Israel experienced a preemptive attack upon its nation, which was the worst massacre in its history by Iranian proxy Hamas, carried out with Iranian arms and funded by Iran. It opened Pandora's box, forcing Israel to fight a war for its survival, knowing that without it, there would be many more attacks like October 7 or worse.

The new twenty-first-century wars are proxy wars, but they are also media wars.

Webmaster addition: Israel needs to learn to fight their own wars and accept the consequences.

The international community must address nuclear “proliferation risks” posed by the three-way AUKUS agreement between the US, UK and Australia, Beijing’s envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has said.

Speaking before the IAEA board of governors on Friday, Chinese envoy Li Song argued that the AUKUS deal “runs counter to the purpose and objectives” of the landmark Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), and threatens the Asia-Pacific region.

Ankara plans to ask the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to investigate whether Israel possesses nuclear weapons, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced.

According to the Turkish president, Israel is among the few nations not signatory to the 1968 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. He stressed the significance of this step in balancing strategic interests in the region, and asserted that Turkey would continue to exert pressure on Israel regarding its nuclear capabilities.

From the outset, Paris sought to ensure an independent deterrent separate from that of the United States – and to develop sufficient nuclear firepower not to utterly destroy its presumed Soviet adversary in the event of war, but enough to dissuade an enemy from an attack on France. During the Cold War, France’s deterrent featured land, sea and air-based components, with the mission handed over entirely to the Navy in the 1990s.
