Nearly every story coming out of Gaza in the last seven months has been tragic, but one of the most heartbreaking is the Flour Massacre, the name given to the February 29 incident that left 118 Palestinians dead and 760 injured at the hands of Israeli soldiers as they clamored to receive a delivery of food aid on al-Rashid Street in Gaza City.

A UN official overseeing relief efforts in Gaza said aid access has not improved in the northern part of the Strip and pushed back on Israel’s claims that the UN was to blame for the difficulty in distributing the aid.

Jamie McGoldrick, a UN humanitarian coordinator, said the responsibility for the occupying power when it comes to providing humanitarian assistance for starving Palestinians “only ends when…aid reaches the civilians in Gaza.”

There is a line from the immortal anti-war poem i sing of Olaf glad and big, in which the protagonist, Olaf, a World War I–era conscientious objector who eventually dies in prison at the hands of the state, declares, “There is some sh*t I will not eat.”

The basic problem we confront in the Middle East today is that when it comes from Benjamin Netanyahu, there is nothing Joe Biden will not eat.

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, is a legal scholar, the first woman to hold this pivotal position, and an all-round pain in the neck for genocidal Zionists from Tel Aviv to London to New York.

A massive rally was held in the British capital on Saturday to protest Israeli attacks and demand an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Anadolu Agency reports.

Thousands of protesters gathered in central Russell Square as part of the Day of Action for Palestine, in solidarity with Gaza where more than 33,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since Oct. 7, 2023.

Carrying Palestinian flags, the protesters called for an immediate ceasefire in the blockaded territory, and criticized the UK’s stance on Israel.

The Israeli army has been committing an average of 16 massacres daily in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 where it has been carrying out attacks for over six months, according to the Gaza government, Anadolu reports.

The Gaza government’s Media Office issued a statement detailing the 190-day-long bombardment carried out by Israel on Gaza.

The statement reported that the Israeli army has committed “2,973 massacres in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.”

In a shocking, yet expected step, Berlin police raided and shut down the “Palestinian Congress”, as it kicked off on Friday, April 12. The Congress was planned to be a three-day event featuring speakers from around the world, including Ghassan Abu-Sittah, Salman Abu Sitta, Noura Erakat, and Ali Abunimah among many others.

Twenty years on from reports that the US military was torturing prisoners at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison, three survivors will finally get a chance to bring their claims before an American jury.

A trial in the civil lawsuit filed by former Abu Ghraib inmates against the US military contractor that they blame for their suffering is scheduled to begin on Monday in a federal court near Washington. The private security contractor, CACI International, has strung the case along for 16 years by making over 20 unsuccessful attempts to have the lawsuit dismissed.
